elements of art/principles of design

-Lines are marks made by a pointed tool: brush, pencil, pen, etc. Lines can vary in width, direction, curvature, length, or color.

-Shapes are formed wherever the ends of a continuous line meet.

-Color wheels show the primary colors, secondary colors, and the tertiary (intermediate) colors.

-Value, or tone, refers to dark and light; the value scale refers to black and white with all gradations of gray in between.

-Form describes objects that are three-dimensional, having length, width, and height.

-Texture can be rough, bumpy, slick, scratchy, smooth, silky, soft, prickly--the list is endless. Texture refers to the surface quality, both simulated and actual, of artwork.

-Space refers to distances or areas around, between, or within components of a piece.

-Balance is the comfortable or pleasing arrangement of things in art.

-Contrast is created by using elements that conflict with one another.

-Emphasis in the focal area of an artwork gives it importance.

-Movement in an artwork means the artist is taking viewers on a trip through the work by means of lines, edges, shapes, and colors often leading to the focal area.

-Patterns are made in art when the same shapes or elements are repeated again and again.

-Rhythm is the repetition of shapes, lines, and forms.

-Unity means that all elements in an artwork are in harmony.

Cat

The cats are trying to escape and don't want to be in there. One's already half way out other one's getting ready to leave and the third one's just watching by the window.

Dorothea Lange

1.Lange's famous 'migrant mother' photos have such an impact because it pictures like how her life is and all.
2.Social commentary photography kind of means to show commentary on issues in a society.
3. The social commentary i could use today is like a picture of war and whats going on in africa with ebola or our economics how people are job less, bad paid.

Instagram reflection

I like the points of view he takes a picture of. He has such good lighting in all of his pictures.

Berenice Abbott

The quote to me means that people see these things in different ways, and make your eyes attracted to the photo.
Her portraiture were unusual with exhibitions of modernist photography.

National Geographic Warm-up

This is my favorite picture of of the 45 pictures because i like the timing of the picture. I also like the scene of the picture. The darkness of the picture makes the sparks pop.
A picture I could would illustrate the world thats around we be like a picture of Akins where i go to school, doing sports, nut also a picture of like family and work. a picture that would illustrate someone working hard. Like a eye picture that shows family, school, and work. things that surround me.
And a picture I'd submit to a thing like that is like of nature but a cool stopping motion picture.

Elements of design

5 major elements of photo composition: Pattern, Symmetry, Texture, Depth of Field, Lines
Golden Triangle is the key of proposition, determining the right division of space of the layout.

Best & Worst picture

This is my best picture. It's my best picture because the lighting was just right. The sunset or whatever makes the sky & water look really pretty. And the city & palm trees was a good setting to have.  It makes the picture some what have a pop and attracts you.
This is my worst picture. There was glare on the window. The picture was kind of blurry also. The lighting wasn't so great. The picture looks faded. It doesn't really have anything that makes it look interest or makes it "pop".
